How to participate
- Appliance must be located in Nova Scotia
- Applicant must be a residential customer of a Nova Scotia utility company (Nova Scotia Power, Antigonish, Berwick, Canso, Lunenburg, Mahone Bay, Riverport)
- Appliances must be 10 years old or older
- Full-sized refrigerators must be 10 cubic feet capacity or larger, smaller is considered a mini-fridge
- Full-sized freezers must be 7 cubic feet capacity or larger, smaller is considered a mini-freezer
- Appliances must be in working (cooling) order, empty, clean, and plugged in at time of pickup
- Water line must be disconnected
- Appliances will be picked up at no charge to you or your Nova Scotia power/ Utility bill
- We can only pick up mini fridges, mini freezers and air conditioners if they accompany at least one full-sized appliance. Please contact your local municipal office to find the nearest recycling depot to dispose of non-eligible appliances responsibly
- Efficiency Nova Scotia and ARCA reserve the right to refuse service when there is a potential threat to the safety and well-being of staff, participants and/or bystanders
